This workshop will focus on building strength and awareness in the upper body with the intention of creating a healthy foundation for arm support postures including inversions and arm balances. We will start with a review of the functional anatomy at play when bearing weight in the arms. We will explore tools to help build a heightened awareness of alignment and stability in foundational postures like downward dog and plank. Through some playful vinyasa flows we will seek a balance between strength and flexibility to keep your shoulders happy and healthy. We will get to know our “props,” and use them with intentionality as a way to support our practice in a progressively. Then, we'll get upside down.
